My name is Tomás. I’m a native of Southern California and I graduated from Cal State LA with a Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders. I was also accepted into the Speech Language Pathology Assistant program where after completion I was able to obtain my license with the State of California.

For the past three years I have been working in underserved communities in South Los Angeles providing one on one in home and telehealth speech therapy to children 18-36 months old.

I have learned so much over these three years in the field in terms of my practice and even just about myself. Going into the homes of these families is a very intimate thing. There is nothing more rewarding than experiencing a child being able to communicate with their families and loved ones for the first time.

My years in school could never have prepared me for the joy and worthwhile experience this line of work provides. For that is why I’m excited to join Bright Beginnings and begin my next chapter in my professional career.
