Hello! My name is Lori Marks and I was born in South Africa but have been living in sunny California since I was 8 years old. I received my bachelor of arts at UC Santa Barbara with a major in Linguistics and minor in Speech and Hearing Sciences. After finishing my B.A I worked as a behavior therapist for children with autism and found a special place in my heart for helping bridge the gap for parents and their children who were struggling to communicate. I then pursued by Masters at Cal State Northridge and have been practicing ever since. I have had the priveledge of working with children and adults with speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders and their families and have found that every experience has made my experience as a speech language pathologist so much better. I have particularly loved working with children. It has been a gift to watch a child’s language skills grow and see them thrive as individuals.
I am the youngest of three sisters and when I am not at work I enjoy spending time with them and now my beautiful niece and nephew or having a dinner/movie night with friends. I like to go on hikes, take yoga classes, run and do anything that involves being near or on the beach. I also enjoy live music shows and sports games (hockey, basketball, baseball.. you name it).
